Sylva Foundation is an innovative, UK environmental charity working to ensure Britain’s woodland thrives for people and nature. Leaving a gift in your will to Sylva would be a lasting investment in sustainable living for future generations.
Working with scientists and forestry experts we research the issues facing our trees and forests and investigate new ways we can protect and manage them sustainably. We create tools and projects that help teachers and other educators to inspire young people and build understanding and respect for trees and woodlands. We help woodland owners to care for and manage their woodlands for their own, and our collective, benefit. And, at our unique Wood Centre in Oxfordshire we nurture talented individuals and new businesses that work and create in the British wood that’s growing now and in the future.
The woodland sector in the UK is crowded with many organisations working towards similar goals, sometimes with a common purpose, sometimes collaboratively - but not always. The Sylva Foundation plays a unique role, acting to bind organisations and their activities together in innovative ways, based on sound scientific evidence that we collect in partnership and apply in powerful, practical ways. By working together we can develop clever, freely-available technologies, leverage funds, support evidence-based decision making, and fulfil an advocacy role at policy level. We’re helping create real and lasting change in the condition of Britain’s woodlands which benefits everyone – people and nature.
