The Peace Museum explores the history and the often-untold stories of peace, peacemakers, social reform and peace movements. It is unique in that it is the only accredited museum of its kind in the UK.

Our aim is to honour the diverse stories of people who have tried to make the world more peaceful, and to engage visitors in the active endeavour of peace-making. The museum’s 9,000 item collection charts the history of peacemakers locally, nationally and internationally, and is continually growing to reflect important modern issues.

We cover a wide range of topics within our permanent and temporary exhibitions, including climate change, human rights, and nuclear disarmament.

We offer an exciting and engaging learning programme for both children and adults, delivered in the museum and in schools, which encourages participants to think differently about violence and peace-making.

By remembering The Peace Museum in your Will, you’ll help support our team in their work documenting important stories of peacemaking, and providing the next generation with the tools to create a more peaceful world. We are in the process of moving premises, and donations are currently more important than ever to ensure that we can continue our work.

If you would like to support the museum in this way, or have any questions about how your donation would allow us to expand our programmes, please contact our team at info@peacemuseum.org.uk
