Registered Charity No: 294998 (England & Wales).

PAC is an Adoption Support Agency which for more than 27 years has championed the needs of all parties with an interest in adoption. We provide expert advice, counselling and therapeutic help to adoptive families, adopted children, adults adopted as children, birth relatives and the professionals who work with these groups. We have led the development of practice in our field, particularly in working therapeutically with adoptive families at risk of disruption. We have expanded our reach to include other permanent placements such as long-term fostering, special guardianship and kinship care.

Adoption/permanency offers each child a wonderful new start in life within a loving family. However it is also the start of a difficult journey - one that began with the pain and grief of separation from the birth family. Around 90% of adoptions in England today are of children in the care system, many of whom have suffered abuse, neglect and multiple placements prior to their adoption. These early traumatic experiences leave a lasting legacy and can affect the child, their adoptive family, their school environment and their peer relationships into adulthood. Birth parents and other birth relatives - grandparents for example - may also struggle to cope with overwhelming emotions as a result of their loss of the child, or, later, with issues around potential reunion.

PAC's vision is to continually develop its practice and methodologies in order to offer the highest quality adoption and permanency support service in the UK. Your gift will change lives.
