Cystic fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common inherited life-shortening conditions. It slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. There is currently no cure.
There are over 9,000 people in the UK with cystic fibrosis, and 1 in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it. Each week five babies are born with CF, and two people die. Only half of those with CF live to celebrate their 40th birthday.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK's only national charity dealing with all aspects of cystic fibrosis. We support the CF community, offering information and advice, and campaigning on the issues that matter. We work with clinical teams to drive up standards of care, and invest in cutting-edge research to find better treatments, and ultimately a cure.
We are here because we believe cystic fibrosis is beatable. With your help it is a fight we can win.
