Registered Charity No: 287118 (England & Wales).

The Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) is a charity run by veterinary and animal welfare professionals, which uses expert veterinary knowledge to improve the welfare of all animals through science, education and debate.

AWF funds research, supports veterinary education and stimulates debate on pressing animal welfare topics. We produce a popular range of pet care advice leaflets which have been written by vets and partner with other organisations to tackle issues such as irresponsible dog breeding.

We are proud of the positive impact of our work and can celebrate the genuine improvements that have been achieved through research funded by this small charity. AWF research projects have led to breakthrough treatments for horses, cattle, sheep and cats as well as improved livestock management systems and new insights into current welfare issues.

Funded entirely by voluntary contributions, including legacies, we rely on the generosity of the public to continue our practical and professional approach to improving animal welfare for generations to come. Please visit our website to find out more about our work and how you can support us.
