Registered Charity No: 1192203 (England & Wales).

The Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) is a science and knowledge-based charity which has been putting animal welfare at the heart of veterinary science and education for the past 40 years. Our aim is to deepen understanding of animal welfare and inspire evidence-based actions so that all animals can enjoy a better life.

Through funding ground-breaking research and leading impactful debates and conversations at all levels, AWF identifies and tackles animal welfare issues, always pushing for higher standards in the UK.

Research

AWF has invested over £2.3M into animal welfare research to date. Projects funded by AWF have led to breakthrough diagnostics and treatments in many species, ranging from painful and contagious diseases in cattle, sheep and horses, to pioneering pain management work for cats. Leaving a gift in your will would help us invest in further research to improve the welfare of many species.

A platform for animals

Your support could also help fund our annual animal welfare conference, which has raised the profile of many serious animal welfare issues and helped influence policy decisions, leading to changes in the regulations and laws governing the welfare of animals.

How you can help

AWF is funded entirely by voluntary contributions, including legacies, and we rely on the generosity of people like you to continue improving animal welfare for generations to come.
