Registered Charity No: 1129698 (England & Wales).

The rates of asthma and allergic diseases and respiratory conditions have increased alarmingly during the past two decades – with almost half of all British children now expected to suffer from conditions such as asthma, eczema, food allergies and hay fever at some time.

The AAIR Charity works tirelessly to help fund vital research into the causes of these and other respiratory conditions. Our world-acclaimed research unit based at The University of Southampton School of Medicine is home to some of the most highly regarded asthma, allergy and respiratory experts in the world. These dedicated medical staff aim to find the causes at the root of these alarming rises and have been involved in many breakthroughs - including the discovery of the world’s first asthma gene. Their hope is to discover better treatments and ultimately cures for these sometimes fatal conditions.

Although AAIR supports a globally-recognised department we are a very small charity and much of the research we support is dependent upon donations. To ensure we can continue funding this pioneering work we need your help. Please remember us when making your will or considering a donation.

We are always happy to welcome visitors to the department to meet the research team and see how their donations have helped. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
