Registered Charity No: 1160384 (England & Wales).
The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development believes that every man, woman and child matters. For more than 50 years, we have supported some of the world’s poorest communities in countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America, working with people of all faiths and none.
As the official overseas humanitarian and development agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, we work to bring hope, compassion and solidarity to poor communities, standing side by side with them to end poverty and injustice.
We help people to access safe drinking water, education, healthcare, shelter, and the tools and training they need to work their way out of poverty.
We also supply emergency aid when disasters strike, providing effective assistance within hours of crises occurring. As a member of the global Caritas Internationalis network, we are able to reach communities and regions that other agencies can struggle to access. We provide long-term support to communities as they rebuild their homes and lives, and support vital peace-building and reconciliation projects to reduce the threat of future violence.
With the Catholic community’s support here in the UK, we campaign against unjust laws and systems that keep people trapped in poverty.
By working with our trusted local partners, we can deliver help where and when it’s needed most. Gifts in wills fund one in eight of our projects, saving and changing lives every day.
Please remember the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development in your will and help us create a better world for all of God’s children.
